Just when you think you know all about the magical world of Bee’s there is so much more!! BAH decided that this year we were going to make Elf candles with this natural wax left over from bees, and the best part is if you mess up-you can easily try again!!
At the end of the honey season Beekeepers can harvest wax that is left over from honey extraction, scrapings from boxes, and colonies that die. Have to say Cyd did an awesome job for her first time.
Beeswax melts around 149 degrees Fahrenheit, but it also becomes brittle and difficult to manage if the temperature is too low.
Check in next year to see what creations we come up with. Your suggestions are welcome!
